Sage Ginger Prosecco Cocktail

Equipment

  • Saucepan for making syrup
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Champagne flutes
  • Spoon for stirring

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bottle 750 ml Prosecco, chilled
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup fresh sage leaves plus extra for garnish
  • 2 inches fresh ginger peeled and sliced
  • 4 thin slices of ginger for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, ¼ cup sage leaves, and sliced ginger. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Strain the syrup and let it cool completely.
  • Place a sage leaf and a thin slice of ginger in each champagne flute.
  • Pour 1 ounce of the sage-ginger syrup into each glass.
  • Top with chilled Prosecco.
  • Gently stir and garnish with an additional sage leaf if desired.

Notes

For a stronger flavor, use more syrup; for a lighter drink, use less.
