fresh or frozen blackberries

vanilla extract

mini chocolate chips
Instructions
Blend blackberries with ¼ cup sugar until smooth. Strain if desired.
Whisk together cream, milk, remaining sugar, and vanilla.
Stir in blackberry puree.
Chill mixture for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Churn in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's instructions.
Add chocolate chips in the last few minutes of churning.
Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze until firm, about 4-6 hours.
Notes
For a more intense blackberry flavor, reserve some whole berries and add them during the last few minutes of churning.
If the ice cream is too hard, let it sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before scooping
