If you’re really looking to balance extravagance and comfort, lobster ravioli is the ideal meal.
Plump, rich, parcels of pasta packed with succulent, buttery lobster meat, a creamy or lemony sauce, and a little cheese and herb garnish – it’s pretty close to perfect!
Perhaps the only way to improve this meal is to serve it with the ideal side dish. When you know what to pair with lobster ravioli, it will take your dinner game to the next level!
There are a lot of different options that go amazingly with this meal, so there’s sure to be something you like. I’ve listed all of my favorite dishes to serve with lobster ravioli in this article, including:
Hungry yet? Let’s get right to it!
Vegetables
Grilled Zucchini
This grilled zucchini is tender yet firm with a good bite and has a crispy caramelized outside.
It’s the perfect way to prepare this veggie, especially when it’s in season and there’s so much to go around!
It only takes a handful of common ingredients and under twenty minutes to make this recipe.
Simply slice your zucchini into half-inch rounds and coat both sides of each slice with a marinade of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Grill the zucchini for three to four minutes on each side or until almost charred, then serve topped with the remaining marinade!
Sautéed Spinach with Garlic
This amazing wilted spinach recipe is so soft, tender, and garlicky, while still being jam-packed with vitamins and nutrients!
It is incredibly simple too, and only takes ten minutes; it’s easily one of my favorite ways to cook spinach.
All you need to do is mince garlic and wash your greens while heating some olive oil in a sauté pan.
Then, add in the minced garlic and cook until aromatic (about thirty seconds) before you pack the pan full of spinach, and stir so the leaves get coated in garlic and oil.
Cover the pan for a minute, stir, and repeat these steps until the spinach has wilted to the texture you prefer (I usually take about five minutes.) Serve immediately and enjoy!
Asparagus Almondine
If you’re craving something a little “fancy”, this asparagus recipe is a great option!
The variety of different textures and flavors in this dish, from the tender, earthy asparagus to the rich, crunchy almonds and the bright flavors of garlic and lemon.
It all combines to create an intricate and delightful vegetable side dish. I also love the added protein boost from the nuts!
Despite the elaborate feel of this dish, it’s simple to make and only takes fifteen minutes.
First, lightly toast the almonds in butter for three to four minutes. This step really brings out their warm, nutty flavor, as well as adding crispness.
When your nuts are ready, remove them and add chopped shallots to the same pan and sauté for a minute or so.
Then, add in your garlic, lemon zest, and asparagus, and cook for a few minutes until the asparagus is cooked to your liking. Add in lemon juice and the toasted almonds, season with salt and pepper, and serve while still warm!
Roasted Cherry Tomatoes
Is there anything better than the ripe, sweet, bright burst of popping a roasted cherry tomato in your mouth?
These bite-sized veggies (I know, technically a fruit) are super popular for a reason. Whether on their own, as a side, or as an ingredient in a main meal, they’re one of the most versatile and delicious foods out there!
This simple method of preparing cherry tomatoes is one of the best in my opinion.
While this recipe takes a little time, it’s incredibly easy and simple and the resulting tomatoes are to die for.
To make it, spread your cherry tomatoes on a lined baking sheet and toss them with olive oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic before putting them in the oven at 275°F for two hours.
Once they’re ready, they will be incredibly soft and almost bursting – not to mention shockingly sweet.
Serve whenever you like, but warn your guests if you serve them right away, as they’ll be piping hot!
Crispy Oven-Roasted Broccolini
Broccolini is such an underrated vegetable! Give it the attention and love it deserves with this simple fifteen-minute recipe. The resulting side dish is earthy, crispy, salty, and addictingly good.
To make it, simply toss your broccolini in olive oil and soy sauce, and bake at 425°F for fifteen minutes or until it is crisp and golden brown on the edges.
Finish with coarse sea salt, and serve right away!
Mushroom Ragù
This vegan twist on classic meat sauce is such a unique, hearty, homey, and indulgent dish. Mushroom ragù is excellent as a side dish, but also as a sauce for pasta, polenta, or potatoes.
To prepare this plant-based ragù, first sauté onions, carrots, and garlic in olive oil until they have softened (about five minutes), then add in your mushrooms and cook for another five minutes before adding thyme, oregano, parsley, black pepper, red wine, tomato sauce, and vegetable broth.
Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for twenty minutes covered and another fifteen to twenty minutes uncovered until the ragù has reached the desired thickness. Garnish with parsley and hazelnuts, and enjoy!
Balsamic Glazed Brussels Sprouts
These amazing brussels sprouts are sweet and salty, with a caramelized, crispy outside and a tender, succulent middle.
If you’ve been avoiding brussels sprouts since childhood, maybe now's the time to give them another try; this recipe might well change your mind!
When making this dish, make sure to use fresh, in-season sprouts for the best results.
Clean them well, then slice them in half and toss them with garlic powder, Kosher salt, black pepper, and olive oil.
Roast them for twenty-five minutes, stopping around the sixteen to eighteen-minute mark to flip them, then drizzle with balsamic glaze and serve piping hot!
Seafood Sides
Lobster Bisque
This creamy, indulgent chowder is the perfect use of lobster! It’s so silk, savory, rich, and satisfying.
There are two main components to this recipe: the lobster stock and the bisque itself.
If you’re short on time, you can use store-bought stock instead; however, to me, it never tastes quite as good.
The stock is pretty simple to make anyway, you just need to add your empty lobster shells to a pot along with seafood stock, water, salt, and Herbes de Provence (a mixture of rosemary, oregano, thyme, basil, savory, sage, lavender, and other aromatic dried herbs).
Then, bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for fifteen minutes. Add in your prepared lobster meat and simmer for an additional five minutes before removing the meat and taking the stock off of the heat.
To make your bisque, first soften onion, carrot, and celery in butter by sauteing for five to ten minutes, then add garlic and cook for a couple more minutes.
Add in tomato paste, and once it’s warmed and combined with the vegetables, sprinkle flour over the mixture and cook until browned and sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Deglaze with white wine, and reduce, then strain your lobster stock into the pot.
Simmer for thirty minutes, then blend until smooth and add in heavy cream and your lobster meat. Garnish, serve, and enjoy!
Maryland Crab Cakes
These crab cakes are hard to resist! They’re tender and meaty on the inside with a crunchy, salty crust.
To make these perfect crab cakes, whisk egg, mayonnaise, parsley, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay, lemon juice, and salt together in a bowl before folding in your crab meat and panko crumbs.
Refrigerate for at least half an hour, then shape into mounds on a baking sheet, brush the tops with melted butter, and bake for twelve to fourteen minutes, or until crisp and golden brown. Serve warm and drizzled with lemon juice!
Breads & Grains
Burrata Bruschetta
Bruschetta is always a good idea, but this recipe takes it to the next level!
It tops the crostini with burrata, a trendy and delicious soft mozzarella, before layering it with tomatoes, onion, garlic, basil, and seasonings. Try drizzling with a balsamic glaze to add even more depth of flavor!
Herbed Garlic Bread
Everyone loves garlic bread!
This homemade recipe makes one of the best garlic breads out there; it’s saturated with butter, giving the middle of the slices a melt-in-your-mouth, garlicky delight while retaining a crunchy crust.
You can even add cheese if you want it to be richer and more satisfying!
Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits
If you’re looking for bread to serve alongside a lobster dish, it’s no surprise that a copycat red lobster recipe will go amazingly!
This recipe makes cheesy, herbed, buttery, flakey, and soft biscuits that are restaurant quality with homemade freshness.
Garlic Knots
These garlic knots are soft, chewy, buttery, and indulgent. Plus, they’re super easy to make from home, with only half an hour of rising time and no mixer needed!
Salads
Burrata Caprese Salad
If you’re looking for a trendy update to an Italian classic, you’re in the right place!
The burrata in this Caprese salad is so mild and creamy that it perfectly contrasts the crisp freshness of the tomatoes, as well as the basil and balsamic.
Caesar Salad
Caesar salad is a classic for a reason!
I mean: who doesn’t love a salad where two of the three main ingredients are bread and cheese?
The fresh, moist lettuce, crispy, buttery croutons, and salty, flavorful greeted parmesan are tied together beautifully by the rich indulgent dressing in this emperor of salads.
Citrus Fennel Salad
This quick and easy salad tastes anything but!
It’s intricate and delicate, with the perfect blend of tart sweetness from the assorted oranges, spicy, herby goodness from the fennel bulbs, and a subtle peppery bitter flavor from the arugula.
Butternut Squash Puree
If you’re looking for the perfect touch of soft, smooth sweetness, hearty, warming flavors, and buttery indulgence, this butternut squash puree is for you!
It’s nutty, sugary without being overpowering, savory and cheesy, and all-around scrumptious.
To make this puree, first season your squash with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then roast in the oven until tender, roughly forty-five minutes.
Scrape out the softened insides from the skin, and mix in a blender or food processor along with butter, sage, and parmesan until smooth (about thirty seconds to a minute.) Serve warm, topped with additional salt and butter if you like.
Sauces
White Wine and Lemon Butter Sauce
This delicate sauce is perfect for serving over lobster ravioli, as well as many other pasta dishes, chicken, or seafood. It’s buttery, zesty, and tart, with a delicate edge from the wine.
It’s super easy to make this sauce too, and it doesn’t take long!
Simply make a quick roux of butter and flour in a large skillet, then ladle in a warmed mixture of white wine, chicken broth, and lemon juice, whisking as you go to ensure it remains smooth.
Once you’ve used up all of your liquid, add in salt, pepper, and fresh thyme, and serve when you’re ready! If you prefer a heavier sauce, you can also add cream and/or parmesan cheese.
Pesto Sauce
If you prefer a brighter, more herby sauce, this simple basil pesto is the way to go!
It’s packed full of flavor, from the salty sharpness of the parmesan and the crunchy richness of the pine nuts to the delicate tartness of the lemon juice and everything in between. It’s a super healthy option as well!
It’s easier than you think to whip up pesto at home, and it only takes ten minutes.
Simply add basil, spinach, pine nuts, parmesan, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper to a food processor, then begin to mix, drizzling in olive oil as you go.
You can even adjust the amount of oil to get the sauce to your desired consistency! If you have any leftovers, this pesto keeps well in the fridge for up to a week and also freezes well.
