If I had been told in 2013 that mocktails would explode on the social scene in 10 years, I'd have given the side eye. But it's happened, and I think it's a beautiful thing.
I've become fully immersed in these inclusive creations, many of which are even more delicious than the originals.

Non-alcoholic drinks make it easy to plan a party or get-together that includes children, friends doing the sober thing, and relatives who have health issues and can't drink alcohol. They're also great to have on hand for the designated drivers in the crowd.
A while back, I published The 6 Best Fall Mocktails. It made such a splash that I decided to do it again.
This time, I'm serving up the 10 best winter mocktails. I once again hand-picked the best variety of mocktails that everyone can enjoy this holiday season and through those blustery months following.
From candy cane-rimmed glasses to fresh fruit toppings, these winter mocktail recipes will knock everyone's Christmas socks off!
1. Christmas Punch
Most of us have heard the tales about Aunt Mildred or Grandpa Bob passing out in the punch bowl after one too many cups.
Well, there's no fear of that with this delicious non-alcoholic version. Made in a quick 5 minutes, this bowl of holiday cheer is made with cranberry, orange, and pomegranate juices.
Add in some soda, ice, and some fresh fruit, and we've got a sweet and tasty punch for all.
The beautiful muted red color can be dressed with rosemary sprigs and makes a great table centerpiece.
2. Candy Cane Christmas Mocktails
One sip of this candy cane mocktail, and none of us will be able to resist the holiday spirit that will envelop our souls like a warm blanket.
This classy-looking drink is easy to make and takes only 5 minutes. The tasty ingredients include cream soda, half-and-half, peppermint oil, simple syrup, and, of course, candy cane.
Crush up the cane, and after lining the rim of a martini glass with the simple syrup, dip the glass into the crushed cane. Stir all the other ingredients into a pitcher and serve.
For something a bit more spirited, feel free to add some non-alcoholic gin.
3. White Christmas Margaritas
Sometimes, during the frigid winter months, I yearn for warmer days full of sand and sun. That's when I put the lime in the coconut and make this delicious white Christmas margarita.
Originally made with tequila, rum, and Grand Marnier, this drink can quickly shift into a virgin version for the coconut lovers at the party.
Simply mix coconut water, cream, and milk, along with lime juice and simple syrup.
Serve in some festive margarita glasses with a colorful garnish, and all the elves are ready to rock around the Christmas tree.
For a more layered flavor, add some non-alcoholic tequila (yes, it's a thing).
4. Poloma Mocktail
While the original is typically a summer drink, the mock version can easily slide into our holiday parties for a refreshing, non-alcoholic alternative.
This fizzy citrus punch can easily be made in big batches, so it's a great choice when I’m entertaining a ton of guests.
It is the perfect choice for an office or classroom party, too.
5. Cranbury Mint Mocktail
If Christmas were a drink, it would be this delightfully delicious mocktail. The deep red hue made by the cranberry juice is made even more festive by the addition of mint sprigs and frozen cranberries at the end.
It's super easy to make a large batch and only takes a few minutes from my busy holiday schedule.
6. Chocolate Peppermint Martini Mocktail
Chocolate martinis are one of the most decadent drinks on the planet.
This creamy, non-alcoholic version is layered with peppermint and is so tasty it's certain to put a smile on the face of any holiday Grinch.
Its upscale appearance and crushed candy cane rim will be a hit on any dessert table.
7. Salted Caramel White Russian Mocktail
I absolutely adore this creamy classic.
This mocktail takes 5 minutes to whip up, and it's excellent for those folks who like a caffeinated pick-me-up to keep going at a party.
8. Tom Collins
I love this recipe's take on the iconic original. It takes only 3 minutes and can be whipped up in a pinch.
This sweet, refreshing recipe can be served proudly at holiday lunches or office parties.
You can also make a pitcher for you and your elves while baking cookies this season.
9. Decadent Gingerbread Eggnog Mocktail
Just when we thought the chocolate martini was the most sinfully rich and tasty drink, up pops this mocktail that tastes like the holidays.
This mocktail consists of a homemade Kahlua substitute, which is easy to make. Add to that, some tasty eggnog, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and you'll have the perfect drink to sip around the fire.
Don't forget to top it off with some whipped cream and ginger snap cookie pieces.
10. Espresso Martini Mocktail
This is my go-to for the perfect after-dinner drink that goes great with any dessert.
Made with fresh vanilla bean, this espresso-based drink becomes a sweet and creamy delight after a few short minutes of boiling and shaking.
Line the rims of a few martini glasses with simple syrup and dip the glasses in chocolate powder. It will create a visually stunning display your guests won't be able to resist.
