As I continue my series on drinks without alcohol, I have been enjoying these drinks since it has been really hot out! This pina colada mocktail was delightful. The first time I made it, I didn't put any extra sugar in it, but it was a little sour.
Since the ingredients in this pineapple coconut mocktail are not sweetened, I do recommend putting a little bit of sugar into this drink, or maybe just rim your glass with sugar in order to take off the sour edge.

Normally this recipe calls for rum, but since we are a pina colada recipe without alcohol, we will be leaving that out.
Let's get into how to make a frozen piña colada mocktail non alcoholic.
Make sure you have a good blender for this recipe! I tried using my standard blender and it just didn't cut it. Once I pulled out my handy dandy Ninja Blender it did the trick.
Place the frozen pineapple chunks into the blender. Add 1-3 tablespoons of brown sugar (depending on how sweet you want it). Add the pineapple juice and the coconut milk.
Blend it until it is smooth. Rim the edge of the glass with white sugar. Pour the virgin colada into the glasses and garnish with fresh pineapple wedges. Serve immediately.
If you don't want to make this piña colada recipe frozen, the I suggest using fresh pineapples instead of frozen. You will need to chill all of your ingredients in the fridge before blending them together.
Also, some recipes call for coconut cream instead of coconut milk. In my opinion, I think the coconut cream is too thick and rich. Going with full fat coconut milk will be just fine in this recipe. You can find it at your local grocery store. It's usually in a can in the baking isle.

Are virgin pina coladas healthy?
In general, piña coladas are not considered to be very healthy. All of the ingredients are high in fat content and it's a rather heavy drink.
However, this is a vegan piña colada mocktail recipe if that is what you are looking for.
It is important to have a good blender for this recipe. You can check out my affiliate link for this Ninja Blender below:
